Calhoun Park is a brilliant little park that you can visit for a nice winding off session after a long day at work. Being a kid-friendly facility, you can take the kids fishing for some bull heads and pan fish. If your little ones are not big on fishing, you can always let them channel that toddler energy to the fantastic play set featured at the park’s play set. Either way, Calhoun Park offers visitors a nice way to kill some time, while relaxing and taking in fresh air amidst the presence of nature. If you are a fan of birds, be sure to ‘set camp’ by the pond, from where you can listen to the melodious chirping as you watch kids attempting to fish by the arks pond. It does not matter whether you are seeking some alone time or some quality time with your little ones; Calhoun has got you covered on all fronts!
The park prides in a couple of picnic shelters as well as two baseball fields. The central feature is a small pond. One of the pavilions had a sand volleyball pit that could use some maintenance. A short, out-of-the-way hiking trail in the back led up a steep hill, but it was hard to find. It is indeed an ideal spot best suited for picnics, and watching or playing baseball
This is a really fun park for sledding. There are two different hills, one that is steep, and one that is gradual. While here, visitors can enjoy several snowmen in progress as well. There is easy parking just a few meters away. The park has two separate playgrounds, a hiking trail, a pond for fishing, alongside multiple baseball diamonds. It is indeed a nice place to walk your dog. There are tons of parking spots, targets for now and arrow practice, as well as trails for horseback riding.
