Here are five steps we take when restoring homes or buildings after a fire.

Wall, Ceiling, and Floor Repair

Walls and ceilings can turn yellow over time due to smoke damage. ERS will treat these areas so that this does not happen. In addition, ERS uses an extraction machine or a thermal fogging machine to clean carpets and floors.

Smoke Damage Repair

If smoke damage is not immediately taken care of, it can cause long-term damage. It is critical to mitigate smoke damage because the burning of synthetic materials can leave behind black smoke residue and harmful odors.

Debris Removal

Fires can leave behind a lot of debris. ERS will come in and remove any debris located around the home or business. This is an important step in getting back to how things looked before the fire.

Furniture Cleaning or Removal

To clean furniture, ERS uses an industrial-strength vacuum. This removes any soot from the furniture. Scrubbing furniture could actually make the soot sink further into the fabric. Using a vacuum removes the soot without making the damage worse. In some cases, wood furniture may be warped from the fire and need to be removed and disposed of.

Clothing and Curtain Cleaning

After a fire, fabrics around the home, like clothes and curtains, need to be cleaned. ERS uses a mixture of water and trisodium phosphate to treat the fabrics before washing them. Several cycles in the washing machine are needed to get items fully cleaned.

It is important to call ERS immediately after a fire. Our restoration services can help your home or business get back to how it looked before the fire. Remember, smoke damage and debris are both dangerous and create an unhealthy environment. ERS will help get the smoke out and clean walls, ceilings, floors, furniture, clothes, and curtains.
